Dr. Michael E. Carlson, Ed.D.

Dr. Michael E. Carlson has been associated with the funeral homes since 1962. He is married to Karen and has two children, Kelly and Brad, and two grandsons, Jacob and Samuel. Mike has been very active in the community over the years. He enjoys golf and reading and is a member of St. Colette Church in Brunswick.

Patrick E. Carlson
Master Embalmer
Patrick E. Carlson, Master Embalmer, took an early interest in the family business. After attending Hiram College, he enrolled and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1972. He is the master embalmer for all of three funeral homes. He and his wife Patricia live in Brunswick and enjoy walking, the outdoors, and spending time with grandchildren. Patrick has two children, Trevor who is a Funeral Director and Embalmer and Vanessa who resides in New Orleans. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, and the Ohio Embalmers Assocation. He is active in many area group assocations and is a member of St. Ambrose Church in Brunswick.

Neil E. Carlson
Manager
Neil E. Carlson has been with Carlson Funeral Homes since his youth. Neil received his B.B.S. degree from Ohio University in 1978. Currently, he is the manager of the Brunswick location. He is director of public relations and manager of pre-need funeral arrangements. Neil and his wife Jackie have five children, Grady, Brittany, Paige, Nena and Nick. Involved in community service, Neil is a member of the Brunswick Chamber of Commerce and the Advisory Board of the Sun Times and attends St. Martin's Church in Valley City. Away from work, he enjoys athletics and the joy of spending time with his family. |

Marlene Kempson
Funeral Director/Embalmer
Marlene is the newest addition to the Carlson Funeral Homes staff. She works in both the Brunswick and Medina Homes. Marlene and her husband Steve live in Medina where they share their home with her mother. They have three daughters, Melissa, Jessica, and Vanessa. Marlene is a graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, an animal rescuer, and a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the Legion of Mary at St. Ambrose. |

Karen Sue Hamrick
Secretary
Karen has been a Secretary with the Carlson Funeral Home family since 2001. A West Virginia native, she lives in Medina with her husband Mike and daughter Mikel. Karen attends LaGrange Independent Freewill Baptist Church; enjoys the beach, reading, spending time with her family, and traveling to West Virginia for frequent visits with her family there. After losing her own mother and sister to cancer, Karen chose to join the Carlson family to help grieving families in their time of loss. |

Harold is an Associate with the Brunswick and Medina Funeral Homes. He and his wife Kay reside in Sharon Township. He has three children and seven grandchildren. Harold enjoys collecting stamps, gardening, and a florist by trade. He attends First Christian Church of Medina. |

Michael is a retired School Teacher. He and his wife Judith live in Medina Township. Michael enjoys gardening, travelling, and reading. He attends St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Dan Farnsworth
Associate
Dan is an Associate for the Brunswick and Medina Funeral Homes. He has two chidren, Erin who is an exercise science major graduating from Mount Union College and Chance who has just entered his first year of college. He is a former Dairy Farmer who enjoys spending time with his children, golfing, and sporting events, and a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church. |

Dana is an associate with our Medina and Brunswick homes. He resides in Brunswick with his wife Cindy and their children. Dana enjoys golfing, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Ruben "Jerry" is very active in the Brunswick community. He and his wife Shirley live in Brunswick with their son David. He is a member of St. Ambrose Parish; Brunswick Eagles; Knights of Columbus; and VFW Post 9520. Jerry always has a smile and a kind word for everyone he meets. |

Pre-Arrangement Specialist
Richard works out of the Brunswick and Medina offices doing aftercare follow up once a family has been served. Richard will visit the home and answer any questions the family may have as to what to do after a death has occurred. |
