RITA HELEN STASCHAK

Rita Helen (Kowalewski) Staschak died at the age of 93 on May 5, 2018 at Continuing Care Solutions in Cuyahoga Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael in 2015. She is survived by her daughters Kathie (Ted) Embacher and Laurie (Jason) McCourt and their families. Rita’s sister Jean predeceased her; she is survived by her sister, Hedwig and two brothers Paul and Joseph and their families.

Rita graduated from Hahnemann School of Nursing in Philadelphia with an R.N. She practiced nursing early in her marriage then returned later in life working as a Red Cross nurse for the blood mobiles until she retired.

Ellet Women’s Club and the St. Joseph’s Parish (Randolph) Altar and Rosary Society were an important part of Rita’s social life. She also loved gardening and always maintained beautiful gardens at her home. Rita was an excellent cook and enjoyed new culinary experiences.

A graveside service will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio on Wednesday, May 30 at 12:45 pm where she will be interred with her husband. They are “At Peace At Last.” Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross 3747 Euclid Ave. Cleveland, OH 44115.
