Obituary: |
Arthur W. Wootton 77, of Chippewa Lake passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012. He was born on March 14, 1934 to Alfred W. and Mary E.(nee Saintinoy) in Cambridge Ohio. After graduating from Williamson High School in West Virginia in 1952 he attended Washington Jefferson College and earned BS in English, going on to Ohio State and passed the Ohio Law bar exam in 1968. Mr. Wootton was a Veteran of the United States Army, also served 20 years with Ohio National Guard and retired with the rank of Major. Arthur retired in 1988 as VP of Commercial Mortgage Lending with Society National Bank. He also chaired and led the Cleveland Neighborhood Housing Society where he aided in building homes for underprivileged families. Arthur was a member of N.R.A. and was an avid hunter, also a great fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He leaves behind his children; Teresa (Mark) Negrey of Valley City, Regina (Richard) Grippaldi of Indiana, Erick (Sandy) Wootton of Avon Lake, Alfred (Kristen) Wootton of Michigan, David (Julie) Wootton of Medina, Tracy (Jesus) Alvarez of Chippewa Lake, daughter-in-law Cindy Wootton of Medina, grandchildren; Jason (Katie) Negrey of Brunswick, Jonathan Negrey (fiancée Stephanie Culp) of Texas, TSgt. Michael (Rian) Ramos of Virginia, Anthony Ramos of Brunswick, Emily, Adam, Ethan and Lindsey all of Medina, Zachary of Avon Lake, Cody of Avon Lake , Eliott of Royal Oak, Anika of Medina, Maxwell of Medina, Jeremy Wootton of Chippewa Lake, and Bridget Read of Chippewa Lake and Shania Alvarez of Chippewa Lake , Jessica (Nick) Alvarez-Haller of Rittman, great grandchildren; Kiley and Kira Negrey of Brunswick, Victory Alvarez, Alyssa and Kathleen Haller of Rittman, sister Carol (Paul) Hrics of Cleveland Hts. and brother Enoch (Sandy) Wootton of Huntington, PA. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Faye (nee Hurd) in 2006 and his son Enoch Wootton in 2008. Friends may join the family for Visitation on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx and Rt. 18) Medina, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 AM. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 also at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. Memorial contributions may be made to Medina County Habitat for Humanity 342 E. Smith Rd. Medina, Ohio 44256.
