Martha Mary Mahoney, 87 of Garrettsville, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012. She was born March 26, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA to Julius and Mary Demjan. Formerly of Pittsburgh, Martha has resided with her daughter Colleen since 2001. She was extremely devoted to her faith as a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Colleen Holdbrook of Garrettsville; brothers, Albert (Norma) Demjan of Pittsburgh and William (Priscilla) Demjan of Steubenville, OH. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years Frederick G. Mahoney, her parents, and brother Julius Demjan.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville. Burial will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Sharpsburg, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses may be made in Martha’s name to Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 10692 Freedom Street Garrettsville, OH 44231.Arrangements are entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St. Garrettsville, OH 44231.
