Obituary:Susie Julia (Tanski) Newton

Beloved wife and mother, Susie Julia (Tanski) Newton, 61, passed away peacefully at  her farm in Nelson surrounded by her husband and children on July 31, 2010.  Susie was born March 24, 1949 to Chester and Julia (Dedianko) Tanski in Cleveland, Ohio.  Susie enjoyed raising her dogs, gardening, and remodeling her century home.  Susie was artistically gifted anf cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Susie was an extremely hard worker, brave, loving and thoughtful.  She touched many lives and would give you the shirt off her back.  Susie maintained her courage through her five year battle with cancer, never giving up hope.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Dale Newton; daughter, Susie (Sterpka) Ballish, Susie's finance, Brent Butterfield; son, Ed (Melissa) Sterpka, son, Doug (Keslie) Sterpka; grandchildren, Brittany Ballish, Heather Ballish, Michael Sterpka, Riley Sterpka, Bryce Butterfield, and Addison Sterpka.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 5-7 PM followed by her funeral services at 7 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Oh 44231.  On line condolences at

We were so sad to read of Susie's death. We had given her and Dale some chicken's about a yr ago and I had talked to her a couple of times since then and yes, she was so chipper and brave and loved her animals. Our condolences to Dale and her family.

My Condolences to Doug and Dale and family. I will always remember Susie as a warm, friendly, and hard working coworker with a big heart. She was truly devoted to her family and animals. A great lady who will be missed.

Doug and family, We are so sorry to hear of your mom's death. She was an amazing, gifted,caring and beautiful woman. She loved very deeply with her whole heart She was a hard worker who always gave all she had to what ever job she was doing. Those of us who were lucky enough to know her and let her touch our lives are truely blessed. She will be missed. May God give you all comfort,strength and peace.
