Albert L. Gugeler

: Vis Albert L Gugeler at the age of 77, passed away suddenly on December 13, 2011. Born in Burlington, Iowa on March 19, 1934 to Edward and Edna (nee Smith) Gugeler. He was a strong man, who endured and won the battle, including 6 months of Cancer treatment. He received his BS Ceramic Engineer from Iowa State University, and was employed from 1955 to 1999 at Ferro Corp. Cleveland. Albert loved operatic music, and growing orchids, and was past President of Greater Cleveland and West Shore Orchid Societies, former trustee of the American Orchid Society and former Chair of the Great Lakes Judging Center, a world renowned orchid judge and a life member of the National Geographic Society. He will be remembered by his family, sisters, Alice Burgess and Ruth Larson, nieces and nephews and many friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother James and sister Mary. Visitation will be held Monday, 19, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM at Carlson Funeral Home 3477 Medina Rd. (corner of Rt. 18 and River Styx) Medina, Ohio. Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM following visitation.
