ALEXANDER MEARNS

Alexander Mearns, age 99, of Medina, passed away on September 6, 2018. He was born on May 25, 1919 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mearns.
Alexander was a member of the Rotary Club and enjoyed all the community service that came with it (from golf outings to bbq's). He retired from US Steel in Lorain,OH and Pittsburg, PA in 1981 as a mechanical design engineer. After retirement, he and his wife, Jean, became EMT's and started an ambulance service and Rotary Club.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Robert, Carolyn (Gene) Ermlick; brother, James (Margaret); grandchildren, Melissa (Jack), Andrew, Keith, Sara; and great grandchildren, Neal and Ian.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean (nee Fraser); and brother, John (Marge).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alexander’s name to: Rotary Club of South Brunswick Islands Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 2894, Shallotte, NC 28459
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256.
