CAROLYN R SWANEY

Carolyn R. Swaney (nee Strasser), age 85, of Medina, Ohio, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. She was born on November 18, 1935, at Cleveland, Ohio to Raymond and Marion (nee Weckerling) Strasser.

She graduated from Independence High School in 1953, then went on to St. Luke's School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio graduating in 1958. Carolyn enjoyed most of her career inside the ER, she then moved on to Bethlehem Steel in Buffalo, New York. Carolyn ended her career at N & W Railway before retiring from nursing. She liked to play Bridge, Euchre, and Bunco. Carolyn also enjoyed bowling, baking, and golf. Bob and Carolyn enjoyed antiquing together. She enjoyed shopping QVC, they will miss her.

Carolyn will be dearly missed by her children, Suzanne, Mark, Jeff, Dave (Eileen), Paula; and former son in law, Rich; her grandchildren, Logan, Lauren, and Sara; her brother, Jack; her nieces and nephew, John Kurt, Jacqueline, and Rebecka; and by her many friends.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Swaney; children, Gail and Bryan; and her nephew, John Raymond.

Friends may join the family for Funeral Services for Carolyn and Bob on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 11:00 am in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends and family will meet at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 3477 Medina Rd. (Corner of Rt. 18 and River Styx Rd.) no later than 10:00 am and will proceed to the cemetery, where military honors will be performed.
