(nee Shields) Powers, 80 of Brunswick passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Kirtland. Catherine was born on August 24, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to Raymond and Anna (nee Cavanaugh) Shields. She was an avid reader, loved sewing and crafts and was a Past President of Friends of the Brunswick Library. Catherine is survived by children; Raymond Hawkins, daughter-in-law Diane Hawkins, Thomas (Linda) Powers, John (Michelle) Powers and Edward (Dana) Powers, grandchildren; Rayanne, Danielle, Brian and David Hawkins, Luke, Lance and Lauren Powers; sister-in-law Anna Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband John, brother Leo Shields, sister-in-law Elaine Shields and her parents.
