CHARLES ROSCOE BURGESS

October 26, 1928 — January 29, 2014

Charles R. Burgess, 85, of Montville Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2014. He was born on October 26, 1928 to Charles L. and Carrie(nee Stollings ) Burgess in Big Creek, West Virginia.

Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He married Mildred (nee Mullins) on February 13, 1951. He was a member of the Medina Moose Lodge and Medina Eagles Lodge. Charles was a proud graduate of Hitchcock Electronics. He enjoyed helping with anything. He was affectionately known as the “Head Maintenance Man”, assisting at the family’s donut shop in Sharon Center, with his son at CNC Service, as well as his granddaughter’s daycare Sharon’s Little Leapers.

He will be dearly missed by his son Charles D. (Sharon); daughters, MaryLou (David) Pitocco, and Patty Burgess; grandchildren Frankie (Jim) Marrone, Chuck (Kelly) Burgess and great-grandchildren Jimmy, Cooper, Miles, Marisa, Heidi and Charlie, also his siblings; Harry, Raymond (Lois), Dolphine Burgess, Helen Sculberry.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings; Cecil, Hallie and Deloris Ann.

The family invites friends for Visitation on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 3 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx and Rt.18), Medina, Ohio 44256. Visitation also on Friday, January 31, 2014, 1 hour prior from 10:30 to 11:30 AM to Funeral Service at 11:30 AM also at the funeral home.

He will be buried together with his wife Mildred in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
