DOLORES M. SCZYPTA

Dolores M. Sczypta, 82, of Garrettsville, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 in Ravenna. She was born March 28, 1930 in Kent, Ohio to Joy and Florence (Rentz) Rhodes.

Dolores was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville where she sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Walnut Hill Cloggers and the Fort Newton Jamboree. Dolores enjoyed sewing, puzzles, composing music, family genealogy and spending time with her beloved family and friends.

She is survived by her children Karon (Fred) Helmuth of Cortland, Joyce Lucas of Pennsylvania, Patrick Lucas of Lebanon, OH, and Barbara Lucas of Garrettsville; sisters Marilyn Johnston and Betty Tomlinson; brother Joseph Rhodes; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband’s Roy Lucas Jr. and Andrew Sczypta, her parents, sisters Colores Johnson and Joyce McReynolds, and her brother Oliver Rhodes.

Friends may join the family for calling hours on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 6-8 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville. Burial will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Noon at Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Township.
