Photo: Obituary: Douglas J. Sendry, 66 of Garrettsville, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 6, 1946 in New York City and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He held a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kent State University, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron and attended numerous judicial colleges. He was an adjunct professor at Hiram College, teaching students business law and retired as a Magistrate for the Portage County Domestic Relations Court. He was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Portage County Bar Association, he served as President of the Ohio State Magistrate Association, was a board member of the Portage Animal Protective League, a member of the Ravenna Elks and various civic organizations. He enjoyed sailing, golf, travel, and sports cars. Doug is survived by his devoted wife, Carolynne (Krebs) whom he married in 1984; daughters, Stacey (Jason) Richardson and Lindsay (Cecil) Anderson all of Kent; sisters, Gail Zangerle and Laurie (Dennis) Kennedy all of New York; grandchildren, Mackenzie and C.J. Anderson; Avery, Owen, and Peyton Richardson; his loving nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Hailey and Cooper. There will be a Celebration of Life from 4-7 P.M. at Sugarbush Golf Club, 11186 St. Rte. 88, Garrettsville, OH 44231 on Friday December 28, 2012.
