Eleanor G. “Ellie” Likes, 66 of Strongsville, passed away on October 2, 2010. She was born July 26, 1944 in Leivasy, West Virginia to Roy and Audrey (nee Lockhart) Dolan. Eleanor married Danny Likes and enjoyed 25 years of marriage.
She was a caregiver at local nursing homes and hospitals and ended her career as the Assistant Director at Greenbriar Assisted Living. She enjoyed taking care of the elderly, camping, baking, traveling the United States and loved her children and grandchildren. Eleanor enjoyed holidays and birthdays were a big deal to her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Danny; her children, Gary A. (Beth) Gwinn of Brunswick, Dwayne “Scott” (Belinda) Gwinn of Brunswick, Christina (Michael) Lewis of Brunswick and William J. (Christy) Likes of Tennessee; her siblings, Louella “Lou” (Carl) Humphries of Brunswick and Ronald (Linda) Dolan of West Virginia; grandchildren, Crystal (Douglas) Becht of Parma Heights, Johnathan “Johnny” Gwinn of Brunswick, Terry (Heather), Melissa and Christina Atkins of Brunswick, Jessica and Allisa Gwinn of Strongsville, Catrina and Miranda Donnelly of Brunswick and Trevor Tucker of Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Trent and Travis Becht of Parma Heights, Brianna Hanshaw of Brunswick, Allison, Michael, Angela, Terry “T.J.” and Samantha Atkins of Brunswick, Brittany Dusina of Brunswick and Jamie Rout of Brunswick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Susan Gwinn and grandson Christopher Atkins.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services (1/2 South of Route 303) Brunswick. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at The Funeral Home. Interment at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley, Ohio.
