ELMER J. BLOOM JR.

Elmer J. Bloom Jr., 84, of Brunswick, passed away March 12, 2017. He was born August 26, 1932 in Cleveland to the late Elmer Sr. and Bertha (nee Kaschubeck) Bloom.
Elmer proudly served his country in The United States Navy. He owned two Sohio Gas Stations in Brunswick during the 60s and 70s. He retired from A. Kobak Container. Elmer was an avid model train enthusiast and he also loved bowling and NASCAR. Above all, Elmer was a kind and gentle soul who dearly loved his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth (nee Frisby); children, Eric, Adam (Michelle), Kirk, Diane Nelson, Sharon (Mark) Sullivan, Christine (Rodney) Reese; stepsons, Douglas (Debi) Miller, James (Jennie) Miller; grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Jennifer, Jeremy, Daniel, Joseph, Kyle, Nicholas, Andrew, Ashley, Zachary, Jacob; step-grandchildren, Zak, Ryan, Joscelynne, Dalton; great grandchildren, Joel, Aiden, Blakely; and many other family members and friends.
Elmer was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (nee Pendagraph) Bloom; sister, Virginia Knierim; and his parents.
Friends may join the family for visitation Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 4 until 8 pm at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11 am also at the funeral home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to Service from 10 until 11 am. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick.
