Gene Wilson, age 83, of Brunswick, Ohio passed away on February 15, 2014. He was the son of Charles and Lula (nee Luke) Wilson. He was born on January 12, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was a member of South Cuyahoga Sportsman’s Club where they enjoyed their Sunday morning shoots, National Rifle Association, and Brunswick Eagles #3505. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother and son who loved his family.
He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Arta; children, Michael, Donna Wells, Carol (Jim) Cassesse, Linda (John) Macklin, Valerie (Robert Kollar), Patricia Wilson; stepchildren, Tonie Schleimer, Richard (Darlene) Duncan, Stephen (Toni) Balyint, Dora (David) Sword; brother, Gerald (Sandra); sister, Janet, and lifelong friend Hilda Maddocks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving first wife Naomi; daughter, Diane; brother, Robert (Olga); brother-in-law, Nick and baby Wilson.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A funeral service will be on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Rd, Cleveland, OH 44142.
Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society and MetroHealth Hospital Burn Unit, 2500 MetroHealth Drive, Cleveland, Ohio 44109.
