GENEVIEVE LOUISE BRAGIEL

September 9, 1936 — April 7, 2019

Genevieve Louise Bragiel (nee Derwis), age 82, of Medina, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019. She was born on September 9, 1936, in Cleveland, OH to the late Henry and Genevieve (nee Gardina) Derwis.

Genevieve (aka Jeanne) was a beautiful, blue-eyed blond, who would arrive at your house dressed to the nines. Often, a white bakery box, filled with pastries or a delicious cake or pie would be in her hand. She had a big, contagious laugh. Jeanne had a big heart, always giving to others. Her fortunate friends and family will miss the beautiful cards and letters that would arrive in the mailbox. She never missed a holiday, special occasion, or the chance to make someone feel appreciated. Her handwriting was astounding in its graceful perfection right until the end. She had many interests but particularly enjoyed traveling, movies, music, theater, watching sporting events, and gambling. Bingo and slots were her favorites.

Jeanne will be dearly missed by her children, John (Barb) Bragiel, Marisa Kanganis, Bridget (Jim) Cassesa, J.P. (Dave) Glowacki; granddaughters, Samantha and Sabrina Glowacki; her brother, Henry Derwis; cousins Donna Volland and Charlene James; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Norman Bragiel, and her sister Marianne Prostak.

Interment will be at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd., Medina, OH 44256.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Genevieve's name to Stay-A-While Cat Shelter, 880 Akins Road, North Royalton, OH 44133.
