HENRY "DONALD" PERREA

Photo: Obituary: Henry “Don” Perrea “Padre” 81 of Medina passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Hospice of Medina County. He was born January 5, 1932 in East Hampton, Massachusetts to William and Louise (nee Carrier). Don was stationed in Alaska, which he came to love. He retired in 1985 from Ohio Bell where he was employed as a Cable Splicer for 30 years. Don was an avid photographer, he enjoyed working on small engines, playing Euchre, (beer), bowling (and beer), and having his family around him. Summer picnics and reunions (and beer) were the norm for Don and his family. He enjoyed renovating their home in Medina which was built in 1880, purchased in 1968, named (“Round Tuit Acres”). Don was very talented in his ability to invent little gadgets that he used around the home. He was an extensive camper and traveler especially enjoying the Northwest States. He took a camping trip back to Alaska in 1979. Henry “Don” was a loving husband to Marlene (Zimlich), and father of Michael (Lee Anne) Perrea, Christine Perrea, Patti (Mike) Yesenosky, Donna Perrea, (deceased), Diane (John) Donahue, Denise (Joe) Hurosky and Andy (Mary) Perrea, grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of 10. He was the brother of Edgar Perrea, Theresa Thomas and Leona Thomas. As well as Rita Benoit and Esther Maynard (both deceased) . All from Massachusetts. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home 3477 Medina Road (corner of Rt. 18 and River Styx Rd.) Medina, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church 3100 S. Weymouth Road Medina, Ohio. (Please meet at the Church). Fr. Stephen Dohner officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Road Rittman, Ohio 44270. (Please meet at the Cemetery entrance 15 minutes prior), on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, ceremony at 12:30 PM.
