Helen M. Oakford, 98, formerly of Nelson Township, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. She was born in Cleveland on February 9, 1923, to the late Earl and Josephine (nee Swartz) Hovey.
Helen will be missed by her children, Joanne Turos, George Oakford, Patricia Cohagan, and Shawn (Susan) Oakford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sons, Scott Oakford, Ray Oakford, and Jeff Oakford.
Per Helen's wishes, she is to be cremated with no services. As she said "If you can't come see me while I was alive I don't want you gawking at me when I'm dead." Care for Helen was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH, 44231.
