City: Visitation Details: Service Details: Photo: Obituary: Helen Marie Podojil, 78 years of age, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Gardens of Western Reserve in Streetsboro. She was born July 7, 1933 in Windham, Ohio to Frank and Amy (Alderman) Stanley. She was a homemaker and was a cafeteria worker at James A. Garfield Schools. Helen was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Garrettsville. She enjoyed baking and cooking. Helen cherished her friends here in Ohio and in Florida and spending time with her beloved family. She is survived by her children Bonnie ( Timothy ) Jacobson of South Carolina, Richard ( Marie ) Podojil of Shalersville, Becky Rini of Streetsboro, Frank ( Lori ) Podojil Jr. of Shalersville, and Amy ( Scott ) Phelps of Garrettsville, Beverly ( Matthew ) Brookover of Garrettsville; brothers Ray Stanley of Kent , Ralph ( Jean ) Stanley of Ravenna, and James Stanley of Windham; sister Norma Walters of Freedom; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years Frank Sr. in 2008, brothers Donald and Leroy, and sisters, Corabell Kaser, Eleanor Vanderpool, Opal Vanderpool, and Donna Stanley. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 5-8 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville, OH 44231 with Father Leo Wehrlin officiating.
