Jeanette K. Polk, 81 of Brunswick passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 17, 1929 in Cleveland to James P. and Gertrude (nee Stuntebeck) Kelly and was a homemaker.
She was a Charter Parishioner at St. Ambrose, Founder of St. Ambrose Special Education Program, and an Original Captain of St. Ambrose Bingo Program. She was involved with her family in every way especially with her grandchildren, was a big Tribe fan, and enjoyed family shopping and her travels.
Mrs. Polk is survived by her children John J. (Laura Day) Polk of Lakewood, Mike (Peggy Rhoads) Polk of Westlake, Donna (George) Wolff of Medina, Karen (Dan) Green of North Olmsted, Jeanne Polk of Brunswick, Dan (Debbie Pero) Polk of Medina, and Christine (Christopher) Monczewski of Brunswick; sister Rita (Lorenzo) Luciano of Independence, sister-in-laws Donna Kelly of Arizona and Judy Kelly of Sheffield Lake; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Polk in 1987; parents; and brothers James P. and Charles H. Kelly.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 and on Monday, May 31, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ambrose Parish with Father John Carlin. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Ambrose Special Education Program, Southwest General Health Center Hospice, or Ronald McDonald House.
