Jeff Burroughs, 79, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
While Jeff could easily light up a room, he hated any kind of fuss being made over him to the point he forbade us from writing this obituary. As the apple does not fall far from the tree, his children did not listen and instead wanted to honor their dad one last time. Jeff was a talented photographer, cameraman, cinematographer, mechanic, and range master among many other things. He had a wicked sense of humor and knew how to put people in stitches. He would get this twinkle in his eyes, and you would brace yourself for the inevitable fits of laughter followed by a sigh of 'Oh Jeff'. Jeff was a loving father figure to not only his children and grandchildren but to many others he met along the way. He was fiercely loyal and supportive to his large community of friends that spanned decades. He was a lover of animals, rescuing many greyhounds over the years. If it could be driven fast, or shot bullets, it was a favorite of Jeff's. He was a stubborn and willful man, which meant his loved ones got two extra years with him as he relentlessly fought on.
Jeff will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His wife, Susan; former wife, Diane; his children, RJ (Mallory), Beth (Nathan) and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Gavin, Liam and Ben; and a long list of dearest and beloved friends, Steve, Mark, Ollie, Sandy and more. He will finally be reunited with his cherished mother, Marguerite and his favorite dogs in heaven.
His family is grateful to all the staff and volunteers at Holy Family Home Healthcare & Hospice and Cleveland Clinic Hospice for their outstanding care and endless kindness given to Jeff and his family. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future and there are no planned services at this time. Jeff's care was entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services in Brunswick, Ohio.
