JEFFREY GROVER THAYER

Jeffrey Grover Thayer, age 56, of Litchfield, Ohio; loving husband, father, brother and
friend to many, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 31, 2016. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Harry and Elizabeth (nee Brown) Thayer on April 3, 1960.

Jeff was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Jeff retired from the US Postal Service in Brunswick. Jeff and Brenda (nee Blamble) were married 31 years. He enjoyed his sons and their friends, always having a good time riding his motorcycle, traveling throughout the country to motorcycle rallies and events, camping the winter time away in Florida. His enjoyments also included fishing, especially on Lake Erie & Tampa Bay, golfing, fixing things and taking care of his bike for himself and anyone else he knew and teaching them how to do it in the future. Jeff never met anyone he couldn’t engage in a conversation.

Jeff will be dearly missed by his wife Brenda; sons, Ryan and Jacob; sisters, Karen (Jim) Gillespie, Nancy (Pat) Rose; brother, Bernie (Theresa); sister-in-law, Doris (Dave) Watkins and brother-in-law, Charles (Joni) Blamble, as well as his 18 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews and friends who are like family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Gary.

Family and friends are invited for Visitation on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 2 to 6 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx & Rt. 18), Medina, Ohio 44256. Funeral Service will follow the Visitation. Burial will be on Monday, August 8, 2016 in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Rittman/Seville, Ohio. (PLEASE MEET AT CARLSON FUNERAL HOME AT 9 AM FOR PROCESSION TO CEMETERY. RIDING FRIENDS ARE ENCOURAGED TO RIDE THEIR BIKES).
