Photo: Obituary: Joanne C. Clark, 78 of Windham went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013. She was born May 19, 1934 in Windham, Ohio to Newman and Olive (Smith) Chaffee. Joanne was an active member of the Windham United Methodist Church, Friday Club, United Methodist Women’s Group, and the choir. She was known as Windham’s “Cake Lady.” Joanne was a devoted wife who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald of Windham; son, Harold of Windham; daughters, Anna Marie (Don) Evans of Rootstown and Nita (Dave) Apthorpe of Windham; brother, Dr. Arthur (JoAnn) Chaffee of Mexico; grandchildren, Carrie (Todd) Barcikowski, Kristin (Eric) Craft, Rebecca Evans, Sarita (Ryan) Slone, Cody Apthorpe and Cali Apthorpe; great-grandchildren, Kannon, Julianna, Erick and Kylie and several nieces and nephews. A special “thank you” to Janice and Kelly for their compassion and tender care. Visitation will begin at 1 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2013 and continue until the funeral service at 6 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. The family will be present from 3-6 PM. Private burial will be in Windham Township Cemetery.
