JOHN B. MCNEILL JR

John B. McNeill, age 89 of Medina, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. He was born December 3, 1923 in Herrin, Illinois to John B. Sr. and Molly (nee Stern) McNeill.
He served in the United States Navy during WW II. John was with the Strongsville City Schools as a respected Social Studies and Advanced English Teacher. His wife of 49 years Twila (nee Shisler) passed away in 2011. John was a Mason and member of Medina VFW, American Legion and 40 year member of United Church of Christ Congregational and 5 year member with United Methodist Church.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters; Cheryl (Darren) Wilson and Mary (Charles) Masilonis, grandchildren; Norah, Steven, Gavin and his brother Theodore (Jean) and sister Margaret McDaniel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers; Ronald, Wendall, Herbert and sisters; Mary Jane, Florence, and Irene.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August, 25, 2013 from 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Road (Rt. 18 and River Styx Road) Medina, Ohio, and also Monday, August 26, 2013 from 12 Noon to 1 PM at Medina United Methodist Church 4747 Foote Road Medina, Ohio. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Funeral Service to follow at 1 PM with Pastor Dr. David Tennant officiating. Interment will follow in Smithville Cemetery.
