Karen Marie Adams Harris, 54, of Garrettsville, OH passed away at Burton Health Care Center in Burton on January 25, 2015 after losing her three year battle with cancer. She was born in Cleveland, OH on February 24, 1960 to Stephen R. Adams and the late Sally (Uher) Adams.
Karen graduated from Brush High School in South Euclid, OH and attended Hiram College. She had a 33 year career as a dispatcher with Garrettsville Police Department along with EMT service with Community Ambulance. Karen received a special, distinctive, recognition award for her career and service by the Garrettsville Village Council and Mayor in December 2014.
She is survived by her devoted father, Stephen, and step-mother Judith O’Hare Adams of Strongsville; sister, Lee Anne Adams Wilson of CA; step-brother, Christopher O’Hare of Streetsboro; step-sisters, Victoria Lynne O’Hare of CA and Kerrin O’Hare McGill of Medina; step-nephew, Matthew McGill of Medina; and step-niece, Amy McGill of Medina. Karen is also survived by her enduring companion Frank Visocan of Garrettsville.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and her husband James Harris. Karen will be grieved by both her immediate family of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Co-workers and Associates.
At Karen’s request there will be no visitation or memorial services. Cremation has taken place.
