Karen Jean Plues (nee Gavlak), age 65, of Brunswick, Ohio, passed away on February 16, 2014. She was the daughter of Albert and Harriet (nee Schmidt) Gavlak. She was born on February 14, 1949 in Medina, Ohio.
She enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing and gambling. She was a member of the Brunswick VFW 9520 auxiliary Unit for 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her friends socializing, and listening to old country, old rock n roll and sea cruise music. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who loved spending time with her family.
Karen will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Charles Jr.; children, Michele (Rob) and Michael; grandchildren, Lindsey Krajzel, Justin Plues and Patrick Buddner; great grandchild, Aiden; siblings, David, Kenneth and Donald.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 4 – 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
