Kevin B. Shump, 60, of Freedom Township, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. He was born December 2, 1961, in Cleveland to the late Donald and Ruth (nee Carr) Shump.
He loved to camp and fish with his family and friends. Kevin was a caring man, and a loving and present father figure to not only his children, but his children's friends, nephews, and nieces. He was always available to give a helping hand to those in need. While a book can be written about what a wonderful man Kevin was, the main thing to know is that all who truly knew Kevin will always love him, and he will forever be missed.
Kevin will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Phyllis, with whom he was blessed to share 34 years of marriage; sons, Chris Radcliffe and Brett Shump; granddaughter, Sloan Radcliffe; siblings, Mark (Sharon) Shump, Jeff (Marsha) Shump, and Valerie Shump; sibling-in-laws, John (Shirley) Dale, Dave Dale, Bob Dale, Barb (Dave) Caretti, Karen (Bruce) Braxton, and Janet (Ken) Sinchak; nephews and nieces, Eric, Patrick, Tara, Candy, Leslie, Scott, Brian, Mathew, Reed, Donald, Chelsea, Holly, Sara, Dave, Jr., Adam, Erik, Damien, Brian, Amanda, Kelly, Ashley, Mindy, and Steven, and his best friends, Ken Stock and Frank Loyek.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Reed Shump; sister, Pam Adkins; brother-in-law, George Adkins, and sister-in-law, Judy Dale.
All services for Kevin are private and his care has been entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
