LANI D. CARLSON

Lani D. Carlson (nee Burk), age 50, of Loudonville, OH, passed away on October 13, 2013. She was the Daughter of Wade and LaVonne (nee Hicks) Burk. She was born on August 6, 1963 in Houston, Texas.
She attended college at Colorado State University, and graduated with honors from Sam Houston State University (Texas). She met Sean when he came to Houston, Texas. After his illustrious college basketball career in Ohio, they fell in love, moved back to Garrettsville, Ohio, and worked in the Carlson Funeral Home family businesses. Lani was very active in her community and a generous supporter of any activity in support of special needs children. Lani was a proud mother to their daughter Regan. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend to many who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Our hearts are broken, and Lani will be dearly missed by her parents; daughter, Regan; sister, Lisa (Craig) Crawford; mother-in- law Katharine Carlson and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Lani asked that special thanks and remembrances be given to her sisters-in-law, Kathleen Bolan, Mary (Timothy) Marcovy, Carleen (Rick Hamrick) Carlson, as well as her loving brothers-in-law, Michael (Karen), Patrick (Patricia), Neil (Jacqueline) Carlson. Their unselfish and caring support for Lani and Regan has been remarkable.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Sean R. Carlson, who passed away less than 10 months ago.
Friends may join the family for Visitation on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road) Medina, OH 44256. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road) Medina, OH 44256. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery, Brunswick, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dale Roy School, 1256 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
