MARLENE "MOLLIE" PFISTER

January 7, 1927 — August 16, 2021

Marlene (Kalinich) Pfister, "a.k.a. Mollie", passed peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the sweet age of 94.

Mollie is affectionately remembered as a polite, gentle, classy and determined lady most often seen putting up "For Sale" signs in her signature pink business suit - tailored, sharp, and crisp! Mollie was born January 7th, 1927, the eldest sister to Mike and Martha and instinctively helped her family to assimilate with American culture having immigrant parents from Russia.

In her teenage years Mollie learned the art of sewing from Mary Louise wedding boutique where she created elegant bridal gowns and veils. Mollie then went on to make custom men's ties for a haberdashery located in the Arcade downtown Cleveland. It was in that shop where she met her future husband, Ed, whom she married and at age 21. In her thirties Mollie was a dedicated wife to Ed, 19 years her senior, as they worked their Hinckley trap shoot business while raising 3 children. In her forties and up until she was age 88 Mollie was a passionate real estate agent selling many properties in Medina county and surrounding areas.

Mollie was a pioneer and a woman ahead of her time, serving as the first female President of Medina County Board of Realtors and the first female delegate representing Ohio at the National Realtor's Association. Mollie was not a women's rights activist, she was active on what was right for women. Mollie was committed to relationships with customers, colleagues and most importantly her family hosting every Thanksgiving and Easter celebration for decades.

Over the years Mollie was an involved member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church serving as the treasurer of the Building Design Committee for the new sanctuary - a project funded in part by the Ed Pfister endowment fund. Mollie also enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling to real estate conventions, and vacationing in Sanibel, Florida.

Above all else Mollie was a dedicated mother, loving grandmother, and a sugary sweet great-grandmother who tirelessly served as the matriarch to the family. Her consistent love, resilience, and grace made her a unique renaissance woman - one with a signature chicken paprikash dish! `

In heaven she will be warmly greeted by the love of her life Edward Pfister who passed in 1970, her parents Michael and Anna Kalinich, and granddaughter Stephanie.

Mollie is survived by her three children, Chuck (Terri) Pfister, Suzan (Jim) McCreanor, and Jim (Becky) Pfister and step-son Ed Pfister Jr. (Lois). Mollie also enjoyed the love of grandchildren Valarie, David (Nicolette), Blake (Gabe), Derek, Stephen, Trenton, Kristen (Jordan), Erin, Brian (Laura), Mary (Jason), Sarah (Michael), Katie (Eric), Eddie, Nancy, Karen, and Kurt, and great-grandchildren Kambrin, Briar, Eastyn, Struan, Aylish, Kelly, Piper, Jennings, Tennyson, Maya, Charlotte, Milo, Jacob, Luke, Caleb, Lucy, and Marco.

Please join the family for a Visitation to celebrate Mollies life on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd., Medina, Oh (Corner of Rt 18 and River Styx Rd.). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 21, 2021 at the Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with a visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery where Mollie will be laid to rest beside her beloved Ed.

Donations are graciously accepted for the Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, Ohio 44192 as Hospice delicately provided home care for Mollie in the final days. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home.
