NEIL HOWARD HALLIDAY

April 29, 1962 — April 8, 2020

Neil Howard Halliday, 57, of Cortland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, with his loving sisters by his side.

Neil was born on April 29, 1962, in Youngstown, Ohio, to James Howard Halliday and Lillian Edwards Halliday.

He was a 1980 graduate of Liberty High School in Youngstown, Ohio. Neil studied engineering at Youngstown State University and architecture at Kent State University. Neil had a fulfilling career in architecture, working with Gruitza & Associates in Sharon, PA, and Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates in Howland, OH.

Neil had a passion for his many interests including gardening, World War II reenacting, the arts, restoring vehicles, fireworks displays, and drag racing events.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Karen Horton (David) and Nancy Halliday (John Nazarian); nieces Megan Halliday Roemer (Jeffrey), and Sarah and Laura Horton; nephew Andrew Horton; great nephew Luca Roemer; and great nieces Lillian and Luciana Roemer. He also leaves his stepson Ryan Diaz (Pam) and grandchildren Mia and Michael Diaz.

Karen and Nancy wish to thank Neil’s remarkable caregivers at Hospice of Medina County for their kindness, compassion, and genuine interest in getting to know Neil.

A private family memorial is planned to celebrate Neil’s life.
