NINA LEE BATEMAN

Nina L. Bateman, age 87, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Nina was born to the late Russell and Gay (nee Burrows) Hathaway on March 9, 1934, in Leafbank, West Virginia. She was a longtime resident of the Brunswick area for 31 years and was an active member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Nina was full of life and always had a garden full of flowers and birds. Her generous and giving nature touched many lives, and she was loved by all who knew her. Nina is survived by her sons, Steve (Amy), Oakie (Barbara), Donald (Mary), and Rick (Robin); daughter, Sherry (Ray); brother, Donald; sisters, Mary, Mona (Dave), and Carol (Bill); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; sons Daniel and Gordon; and brothers, Larry, Hoy, and Ronzel; sisters, Dee and Betty; brother-in-laws Bob and Jay; and sister-in-law, Ginny. Per Nina's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date, once the weather is warmer. The Bateman family has entrusted Nina's care to Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Brunswick.
