SIR PETER J BONNELL II

July 8, 1932 — December 27, 2010

Sir Peter Bonnell, CGSJ, 78 of Medina, previously of Freeport, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at his residence. Born July 8, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York to Peter and Mary L. (nee Seibert) Bonnell, he was Owner and President of Trump Plastics and Esco, Inc.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Sir Peter was knighted by Prince Sergei Turbetskoy into the Knights of Malta Sovereign Order of St. John’s Hospitalers for his charity works. He had the honor of knighting others including Senator Buzz Lukens, Congressman Larry McDonald, General John Singlaub, and General Alexander Haig. He worked to provide medical supplies to Central America and was Ambassador to the United States from his order. He authored an on-line political column entitled Tidbits.

Sir Peter is survived by his children Peter J. (Sylvia J.) Bonnell III, Linda (Paul A.) Schurr, Michael A. (Coleen) Bonnell, Hallie A. (Michael C.) Thompson, and J. Brian Bonnell; brother Martin; sister Lucille Horkan; grandchildren Peter J. IV, Jennifer K., Christian A., Nathan M., and Chace M. Bonnell, Brandon R., Christina M., and Sean M. Thompson, Brianna and Julian.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road), Medina. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington Street, Medina. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
