Philip Johnson 88, of Medina passed January 25, 2011. He was born July 13, 1922 in Cleveland, OH. to Philip and Sylvia Johnson, (both deceased) of Lakewood. OH. He was deeply loved and respected by both family and friends.
Philip was the husband of Genevieve and father to Sylvia, Keith, Kevin all of Medina and Janice Bird of Dublin, OH., grandfather to Cheyanna, Mikel and Kelsey Leverington of Dublin,OH, brother to Mary Louise Freund of Middleburg Hts, Nancy Nickles (deceased) of Lakewood and Beverly Riegler of Cleveland and his many nieces and nephews in the Cleveland area.
Philip was an avid sailor, pilot and entrepreneur. He was founder and former president of McShane, Inc. a sales representative organization that has been in business since 1964. Mr. Johnson was a United States Army, WW II Veteran. Staff Sergeant Johnson served with the 42nd Infantry (“Rainbow”) Division. The family extends many thanks to the Veterans Administration, Dr. Jeannette Spreng M.D. and the nurses of Bridges Home Health Care and during his final day, the Hospice of Medina County.
A private graveside service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. Family arrangements were entrusted to Carlson Funeral Home 3477 Medina Road Medina, Ohio 44256.
