RICHARD J. MADANSKY SR.

February 4, 1925 — June 15, 2010

Richard “Richie Shubix” J. Madansky, Sr., formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Medina Village Retirement Community in Medina. He was born February 4, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph and Agnes (nee Mraz) Madansky.

Rich honed his communications skills working the family business, Shubix Café, on the east side of Cleveland. He enjoyed sharing his life with other people and he had a pleasant and outgoing personality. He was a WWII veteran, serving with the combat engineers in Central Europe, and was awarded the American Theatre Ribbon, GA4T Theatre Ribbon with 2 bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, and Victory Medal.

He is survived by his children, Rich (Kathy) Madansky, John Madansky, and William Madansky; grandchildren Angie (Wayne), Linda (Ed), William, Jenny (Matt), Ann (Kris), Luke (Bek), Jake, Cole, Genie (Bryan), and Mike (Carrie); and great-grandchildren Ashlee, Brandon, Susan, Sophia, Hannah, and Ana.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judy; daughter Linda; brothers William and John; sister Agnes; and his parents.

The family wishes to thank Stokes Veterans Medical Center, Medina Village Retirement Community, Dr. Yatish Goyal, and Dr. Qarab Syed for their continuing support.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road), Medina and one hour prior to service at Church on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Martyrs Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
