Roger S. Kerns, age 74, of Valley City, Ohio passed away on February 4, 2014. He was the son of William and Kathryn (nee Clabbey) Kerns. He was born on December 18, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, vintage cars, his Harley and spending time with his friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, son and uncle who loved his family.
He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 55 years Laurel (nee Schuping); daughters, Darlene (Chris) Adelman and Kathy (Chris) Stricklett; grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsey), Ashlei (Martin), Brett (Jessie), Matthew and Ben (Jen); great grandchildren, Sophia, Grant, Zoe, Violet and Bentley; brother, Patrick and sister-in-law, Delores.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Richard and Donald; sisters, Dorothy and Mary Ann.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 2-8PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 at12:00 PM at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, Ohio 44280, with a visitation one half hour prior at 11:30 AM (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at St. Martin of Tours Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Medina County, 232 Northland Drive, Medina, Ohio 44256-1533.
