ROSE MARIE WILKINSON

October 5, 1938 — May 24, 2020

Rose Marie Wilkinson, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother went to heaven on Sunday, May 24, 2020, following complications from a recent stroke. She was born sixth of seven children on October 5, 1938, to Hungarian immigrants William and Elizabeth Toth and was raised on their small suburban farm in Girard, Ohio. Along with tending their gardens and animals, she spent her youth exploring the woods and playing stickball with her siblings and friends. She also talked about having to walk uphill to and from school.

After graduating from Girard High School in 1956 she worked as an administrative assistant for Beneda Aluminum until she married Bert on June 29, 1957, and, moved to Suitland Maryland where he was stationed at Andrew’s Air Force Base. She had the honor of seeing many dignitaries due to that location. The newlyweds spent their time touring our nation’s capital as they started their family. After returning to Ohio, Rose was a full-time homemaker occasionally working part-time. She spent countless hours praying for family and friends and will always be remembered for her unwavering Christian faith, heartfelt laugh, unconditional love, strong political views, mouthwatering chicken paprikash dinners and bacon and egg breakfasts. The door to her heart and home were always open. Even after her children moved out, she continued to make large meals just in case someone dropped by. She enjoyed viewing the night sky, flower gardens, traveling with Bert until retirement from truck driving, and playing cards. She was a longtime member of The Shrine of Mariapoch in Burton where she volunteered her time.

Rose will be deeply missed by her loving husband Bert, with whom she was blessed to share 63 years of marriage; children, Bert Wilkinson Jr., Richard (Luanne) Wilkinson, Debra Wilkinson Reed, Mike Wilkinson, Natalie (Steve) Boey, Judy (Greg) Macek; Grandchildren, Jacqueline (Eric) Davies, Sierra (David) Robinson, Aaron (Michelle) Wilkinson, Rachel (Vince) Spiert, Tina (Mark) Gray, Misty Wilkinson, Melissa Valot, Richard (Amber) Wilkinson, Randy (Carly) Jenkins, Jessica Eckman, Jennifer Phelan, Josephine Eckman, Joy Boey, Gregory Macek, Alexander (Diana) Macek, Chelsea (Kevin) Macek, Great-Grandchildren, Abigail, Eliza, Brock, Asher, Jude, Lily, Benjamin, Rose, Evelyn, Isaac, Lucas, Zoey, Jeffrey, Gavin, Ava, Olivia, Dylan, Jace, Kaylie, Halyla, Harrison, Noah, Cameron, Hudson, Ari, Carter, Kaidyn, Alexander, Ilyanah, Lailyn, and Peri, Great-Great Grandchildren, Ilaiah, Kingston. sister Margaret Myers, sister-in-law ClaraAnn DeDonato and many nieces and nephews.
