Ruth E. Vancura, 81, of Freedom Township, passed away on April 18, 2010 at her family residence. She was born May 8, 1928 in Nelson to Edward and Elizabeth (Norton) Spencer.
Her priority was her family and she cherished spending time with her beloved family, extended family, and friends. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth also enjoyed playing cards with her card club ladies.
She is survived by her sons; Ronnie ( Barbara ) of West Farmington, and Kurt (Darlene) of Lisbon; daughters Linda (Frank) Macek of Nelson, Paula (Bart) Kerstetter of Diamond, and Pamela (Jeff ) Kaiser of Garrettsville; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother Donald ( Marilyn) Spencer of Hiram; and sister Janet (Bill) Phelps of Garrettsville.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Leroy, brother David, and her sister Dorothy.
Calling hours are on Tuesday, April 20 from 11- 1 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home 8382 Center Street, Garrrettsville, OH 44231. Funeral services will follow at 1PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Harrington Cemetery in Nelson.
