STEVEN J. KERR

Steven J. Kerr, 44 of Garrettsville, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown following complications from an automobile accident on Sept. 13th. He was born in Ravenna, Ohio on Dec. 20, 1968, the son of Melanie Kerr Manno and the late Samuel Kerr.
He was a 1987 graduate of James A. Garfield and a lifelong area resident. He had worked as a truck driver and in the building trades most of his life. Steve enjoyed gardening, playing pool, cookouts and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Kerr.
Steve is survived by his step-father and his mother, Dino and Melanie Manno of Garrettsville; sister, Michele “Shelly” (Rodney) Tyner of North Carolina; nephew, Alex Tyner and grandmother, Hanna Reynolds of Garrettsville as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James A. Garfield Athletic Boosters, c/o Sheri Johnson, 8538 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231 or the Garrettsville Hot Stove, c/o Phil Britton, 8401 Gotham Rd., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
