February 24, 1946 - September 6, 2020
Virgil C. Sizemore, 74, of Garrettsville, joined his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, September 6, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 24, 1946, in Streeter, West Virginia to Benjamin Franklin and Lila (Pack) Sizemore. Virgil lived a full life for 74 years. He loved his Bible and his church. He was a street preacher. He wanted everyone to know about the love of God and where his faith had brought him from. He read his Bible daily and prayed morning and night for those he loved. He loved music and loved to hear his grandkids sing to him. He was a Sunday school teacher, children’s church worker, choir member, usher, and visitation/bus route coordinator. Virgil loved to fellowship with the brethren. His church family was as much his family as his own flesh and blood. He owned a family- based business, Sizemore Builders, in which he employed many of his children and grandchildren. He was always willing to try new things and liked impromptu adventures. He liked to involve his grandkids in so much of what he did including skiing, hiking, fishing, long drives, and late-night runs for ice cream. Virgil was also known for helping anyone in need. He would give whatever he had, even his last dollar, to help meet the needs of someone else. He will be greatly missed on earth. But he has left his family with so many memories that they will cherish. His life touched many people, and he will not be forgotten. Virgil is survived by his wife of 37 years, Deanna Sizemore; his 11 children, Nicholas, Frankie, Danny, Johnny, Gina, Angie, Vicky, Dee, Carla, Erica, and Allison and perhaps his greatest legacy of all, his 104 grandchildren and great grandchildren; his two brothers, Jerry Sizemore and Benjamin Sizemore and his sister Donna Kay Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents. Please join the family for a visitation for Virgil on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Church at Troy 18712 Mumford Rd, Garrettsville, OH 44231. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Masks and social distancing rules will apply.
