WILLIAM "BILL" G. VANCE

William G. Vance, age 80 of Montville Twp, Medina, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016. He was born on January 24, 1936 to William H. and America May (nee Golden) Vance in Jasper, Tennessee. Bill retired from Ford Motor after 28 years as an Electrician.

Bill and Edith were married on September 21, 1955, celebrating 61 years together. He enjoyed traveling, reading and sharing memories with his family.

Bill will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Edith; children, William R. (Millie), James (Nadine), Sherry (Drew) Walther and Tamar (Paul) Warkentien; his grandchildren, William Jr. (Faith), Christopher, Jennifer, Holly (Jeff) Hennis, Phillip (Alicia), Sarah (Joel) Sprout, Joshua (Sarah), Ruth (David), Heather (Don) Stahl, Hannah (Noah) Reimer and Andrew; also his great-grandchildren, Christina, Julianna, William, Hudson, Liam, Autumn, Hunter, Owen, James and Arthur; his siblings, Robert (Aloha), Peggy Garren, Carl (Theresa). He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul and sisters, Dorothy, and Irene Swafford.

Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 6 to 7 PM with a Service to follow at 7 PM at the Abram Creek Baptist Church, 18664 Sheldon Road, Brookpark, Ohio 44142. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 West Streetsboro Street, Suite 201, Hudson, Ohio, 44236, or American Diabetes Association Akron Ohio Office, 1815 West Market Street, Suite 108, Akron, Ohio 44313, or to the Abram Creek Baptist Church. Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road Medina, Ohio 44256 were entrusted with arrangements.
