Doris Surani Pope, known as “Babs” by her late husband Joseph Pope, passed away April 29, 2011 in Medina, Ohio. She was a beloved mother of eight. Born in British Guiana South America, she became a war bride of Master Sergeant Joseph Pope in WWII.
Her loving family surviving her are children: Annette Schorr (Dick), Sharon Cobb (Eugene), Barbara Magnus(deceased), Joseph Pope (Marilyn), Sheila Harboldt (Jay), Yvonne Kosmos (Paul), William Pope, Lorrie Westfall (Jeff) and her sister Irma Facey of Toronto, Canada. In addition to her children, she leaves 21 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
She was the cornerstone of a legacy. Doris embraced friends and family by offering them hospitality, a beautiful smile and a warm touch. We are all blessed to have known her.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 11 AM to 1 PM with Funeral Services at 1 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road), Medina. Burial Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick, Ohio.
Contributions may be made in her name to; The Salvation Army ATTN: Development Dept. 2507 E. 22nd St. Cleveland, Ohio 44115.
