Geraldine “Gerry” Evelyn Gilcher, age 99, resident of Stow, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was born on January 27, 1925, to John Paul and Minnie (Nee Willis) Fairchild. Gerry was a nurse cadet during WWII. She was an Eastern Star Lucasville Chapter, number 495. Gerry was married to Paul William Gilcher on April 5, 1946. She retired from the Parma Public School District in 1982 as an elementary secretary at Ridge Brook Elementary. Gerry loved her family and the many friends she made at Vitalia of Stow.

Gerry will be missed by her children, son, Richard (Valerie), daughter, Barbara (Richard) Liberty, son-in-law “son”, Michael Thoms, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Donald, and daughter, Cynthia Thoms.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Vitalia of Stow, 4291 Allen Rd, Stow, OH 44224.

Gerry will be placed to rest next to her husband at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Carlson Funeral homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx and Rt. 18), Medina, Ohio were entrusted with arrangements.
