HENRY GLENN HAZLETT JR.

April 18, 1935 — September 28, 2021

Henry Glenn Hazlett Jr., 86, of Medina Ohio, previously of Warren, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 due to complications from cancer. He was born on April 18, 1935 in Sharpsville, PA to the late Henry and Hilda (Jennings) Hazlett. Henry graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Ajax Magnethermic until he retired and moved to Southport, NC with his wife, Dawn Hazlett.

Henry was known by most as "Bud". He was proud to have served in the US Army graduating top in his training class. He was stationed in Germany for most of his time in the Army. During his retirement he was a volunteer firefighter and mechanic for St. James Plantation in Southport, NC. Bud also enjoyed working on cars, and participating in local car shows. He took pride in creating custom wood work for his home and helping neighbors with projects. With his ingenuity there wasn't anything that Bud could not design, fabricate or fix.

Bud will join his loving wife Dawn who passed away on September 24, 2021. Bud and Dawn would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this November. Bud enjoyed driving Dawn around in his blue MG sports car. They frequently went for ice cream and Sunday drives. He will also be deeply missed by his loving children, Jill Himes (husband Tom), Joy Makin (husband Selden) of Medina; grandchildren Yuri Himes and Madison Makin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Hazlett and mother, Hilda Hazlett; sister, Sue Young (husband Jim) and sister, Jane Trice (husband Chet).

Due to the passing of both parents, the daughters have chosen to hold an intimate, private service for Henry and his wife Dawn at this time. They will be laid to rest together at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association at alz.org in his wife's memory. Care for Henry was entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - Medina, Ohio.
