She was a woman committed to her family with deep faith, finding joy and solace in her relationship with God and the fellowship of her cherished community at the United Methodist Church of Brunswick. In past years she also served the Copley and Columbia United Methodist Church communities with devotion in the choirs and at times even as organist, filling the sanctuary with beautiful music that touched the hearts of many. She also enjoyed being a violinist.
Marilyn’s talent for music was matched by her creativity with needle and thread. She was a gifted seamstress and loved crafting unique, heartfelt gifts for family and friends. Her handmade prayer bears may still be found in and outside of these very walls. Her warmth and love also came through her kitchen, where she crafted delicious homemade dishes; with her apple crisp, boiled cookies, peanut brittle, and cherry and pumpkin pies being family favorites at every gathering.
She brought fun and laughter to family game nights, especially during spirited rounds of her favorite card game, "Murder," where she delighted in winning. Marilyn's wit, warmth, and unwavering spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and resilience with a beautiful life that enriched the lives of everyone around her.
