Nancy Jean Vaughan-Schott (nee Pasqualetto), 65, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Nancy’s strength, resilience, and love of family is survived by her husband, Mark Schott, her two daughters, Nichole Vaughan and Brianna Schott, and her two sons, Jacob and Joshua Vaughan. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard and Joe, and her sister, Juanita.
Nancy lived an incredibly vibrant life. She was born on June 27, 1958, to Joseph and Janet Pasqualetto, in Pomona, California, where she grew up. As a young woman she met her first husband, Scot Vaughan, and gave birth to her first daughter, Nichole. She then moved with her family to the Bahamas, before moving again to Florida where she gave birth to her two sons, Joshua and Jacob. Nancy finally moved to Ohio where she settled down in Garrettsville. After moving to Ohio, she met her second husband and lifelong partner, Mark Schott, and had her second daughter, Brianna. Nancy’s legacy can be best summarized by the following: she was, above all, a deeply loving mother and wife. Her life centered around raising her four kids and being a good wife to her husband. She always provided a wonderful and safe home for her kids to grow in, and she always displayed patience and perseverance to ensure her kids grew up well. Her children and husband know that Nancy was never happier than to have a house full of her children visiting and together on Christmas in front of a beautiful tree. Besides family she was a passionate fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Guardians, and Browns. She also loved to attend music concerts and to take family vacations to Walt Disney World where she had many happy memories.
Nancy’s legacy lives on in our hearts with the love she gave each and every day and the sacrifices she made along the way, for her family and all those that surrounded her.
In her honor and memory, a visitation period will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Nancy will then be taken to Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH 44273, where she will be lovingly laid to rest.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her strength and love of life were taken far too soon but her legacy lives on strong in our collective hearts. May She Rest in Eternal Peace.
